Qualitative Research Methods skilla
I have worked at the Commission for University Education
KEMRI-WELLCOME TRUST RESEARCH PROGRAMME
Favourite thing to do in my job: the data collection methods used in social science, I like conducting one on one interviews with people and administering questionnaires for collecting data about opinions and views of people on different subjects such as health and the environment which means our surrounding.
Interacting with people to get their opinions, values and views to improve our world
My work in research is about interacting with people to get information on how to improve health services especially those who are not able to get better health care to access the health services in hospitals when they are sick.
My Typical Day
Involves interacting with study subjects and conducting interviews
After doing the interviews I sit in the office, write a report on the findings from the interview where I would have met with a study subject and had a brief discussion on health issues and how to improve services. I write down what has been discussed from the interview. Then I later convert the audio recorded interview into text on the computer
What I'd do with the money
I will buy story books for lower primary children to help them improve their communication skills
