Malaria, unlike many diseases is a disease that involves many factors for effective control. You have to think about the mosquito, -(it’s behaviour, breeding sites) and then the parasite itself that needs medicines to kill it. The problem is you have to control two organisms and not just one.
Malaria can be eradicated, and has been in other countries. All it takes is concerted effort in communities to follow directives like using bed-nets, destroying areas where mosquito breed.
However there is a search for a malaria vaccine and this is expected management of malaria will be easier.
