Flowers have different colour because they produce different types of pigments that reflect light in different ways to your eyes. For example chlorophyll makes plants appear green as it reflects green light, anthocyanins reflect red light and makes plants appear red/purple, carotenoids reflect orange and appear orange. There are many other pigments (flavonoids) and this are produced in different amounts in flowers to give them their colour.
