High blood pressure is increasingly becoming common in people 30 years and above. It can be controlled by reducing salt intake or doing away with salt in food altogether, by exercising, by quitting smoking, by maintaining healthy weight, avoiding alcohol, eating healthy meals and by having a habit of smiling and laughing often. As they say laughter is the best medicine so find occasion to laugh but not at others. It is also good for one to keep monitoring their pressure in the clinic and to ensure it remains low.
